Mechanical Engineer (Czech Republic)

On behalf of its client RED. Recruitment is looking for a mechanical engineer with experience designing and building industrial-grade electronic devices. The successful candidate will work as part of a team developing advanced industrial 360º camera systems. The small team, currently 10 people, is located mostly in Prague. and is focused on building 3D scanning and 360º imaging solutions for street mapping, autonomous vehicle training, VFX, and other industrial and commercial applications. Our client counts among its customers the world’s largest, best-known names in their respective industries.

Some of the tasks you will be working on:
The successful candidate will be tasked with designing chassis and enclosures for various types of custom camera+sensor devices, including DFM, sourcing and managing vendors, assembly of prototypes, and finalizing design for mass production.

Main requirements:
The candidate should have:

• An excellent knowledge of how to build precision devices that require significant durability;
• Knowledge of DFM processes, especially for CNC machining, laser cutting, and sheet metal; 

• Knowledge and experience with dealing with optical devices and the extremely tight design tolerances that can be required for designing certain components around such optical devices (cameras, lenses, etc.);

Nice to have:

• Experience building devices with cameras and other sensors preferred.
  Working with Solidworks is a plus; 
• Experience with electrical engineering including Altium is a plus, but not required.
